"However[political parties]may now and then answer popular ends, they are very likely in the course and time of things,to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reigns of government, destroying afterwards the very engines that have lifted them to unjust dominion."

"The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the constitution of our federal judiciary; an irresponsible body, (for impeachment is scarcely a scare-crow) working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing it's noiseless step like a thief, over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the States, and the government of all be consolidated into one."

It appears that if Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he would start a revolt over the matter of the Affordable Care act, otherwise know as Obama care. Our forefathers created the U.S. constitution based on the principle of choice. When the federal government packages health care and forces the people to buy it, then choice is removed, and that is anti-American. Furthermore, our government isn't as concerned about your healthcare as much as they are concerned about global business. European businesses have complained for years that they have socialized medicine, and the cost of travel to the U.S. is too expensive for them, because they have to purchase special insurance to cover themselves. They feel that we should have a socialized medical system to reciprocate with them. Forcing you to purchase health care is a way to appease their needs at your expense. If the fed's cared to make a more affordable healthcare system, they may have aided in the development of a not for profit health care insurance provider, where profit margin isn't a factor and all associated profits are going into health care coverage.
