Honorable Senator/Representative First Name Last Name Address in Washington D.C.
Dear Senator/Representative First Name Last Name I am contacting you in regards to the first amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, as to the section that states the people's right to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Enclosed you will find the Truckers List of Grievances that I would like for you to take into consideration. Truck drivers serve an important role in our country. They are the individuals that move the products that businesses and the general public need in order to make commerce work for our society. However, the needs , comforts, and ability to be prosperous for truck drivers and trucking companies have been overlooked. While everyone has an expressed interest in safety, many of the laws put in place to regulate the trucking industry have been counter productive to safety and have added an immense amount of stress on American truck drivers. A true and free democracy, as our country was founded upon, is about freedom of choice. Democracy works when citizens take responsibility for their actions. When choice is removed, then we have lost sight of democracy. How can we expect people to be responsible for their actions when choice is removed? Safety is an action that can be taught through an educational process. Legislative acts to rule by force does not equate to safety. Thank you for your time and consideration to this matter.
Sincerely,
You can just send this letter without the list of grievances. Just highlight copy and paste to word pad to make the necessary adjustments then print it off or attach for e-mail, whatever your preference.

The folks at the Brenham Community Center in Texas suggested this site as a viable resource for kids to learn how to contact their members of Congress. Educate them while their young.
